Carry-on

If you are travelling with a small musical instrument such as a violin, you can carry it with you as a cabin baggage, which will be counted as part of your standard cabin baggage allowance. To qualify as a cabin baggage, the sum of length, width and height of your musical instrument (including the case) should not exceed 115cm, and should not weigh more than 7kg.

Cabin seat

Oversized musical instruments – such as a cello and double bass – cannot be brought on board our flights as cabin baggage. If you’d prefer not to check your musical instrument in, you may bring one on board by purchasing an extra seat to accommodate it. We’ll place the instrument on the floor and secure it to the seat frame with seat belts.

After proper packing, your musical instrument should be no larger than 127 cm /50 inches (height) x 45.72 cm /18 inches (width), and no heavier than 40 kg.

Checked

(EN) Musical instruments, such as cello and full-sized guitar, that exceed the standard cabin baggage allowance should be checked in, and would be counted as part of your checked baggage allowance. If you exceed the free baggage allowance, the usual additional baggage charges will apply.
