Small musi­cal instru­ments that fit with­in our stan­dard cab­in bag­gage dimen­sions are per­mit­ted onboard for free, as part of your cab­in bag­gage allowance*.

* Adults and chil­dren can take one cab­in bag weigh­ing up to 7kg (max­i­mum width 56cm, height 36cm and depth 23cm) and one per­son­al item – such as a hand­bag, lap­top bag or back­pack – weigh­ing up to 5kg (max­i­mum width 23cm, height 39cm and depth 19cm). For infants, you are enti­tled to car­ry one cab­in bag weigh­ing up to 7kg (max­i­mum width 56cm, height 36cm and depth 23cm) and one stroller, or one car­rycot or one car seat.

For larg­er instru­ments that exceed stan­dard cab­in dimen­sions or weight, you must pur­chase an addi­tion­al seat in advance of your flight.

You will only be per­mit­ted to car­ry large instru­ments with­in the below dimen­sions if you are sit­ting in a row with the bulkhead/​lava­to­ry wall behind you:

If you’re car­ry­ing a musi­cal instru­ment as checked bag­gage, it must be safe­ly packed, weigh no more than 32kg and not exceed the max­i­mum dimen­sion of 300cm.
