The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons
As a special, unique tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, a brand new Commonwealth Song will be commissioned to be sung by choirs in all 54 Commonwealth countries at the same time as the lighting of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons on June 2nd 2022. The Commonwealth Resounds – a long-time FIM partner – is the organiser of this important element of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons.
The winning lyrics were announced on Sept. 2nd, 2021.
Composers may submit songs based on one of the three selected sets of lyrics until Nov. 2nd, 11.59 (UK GMT). To be eligible, they must be residents in one of the 54 Commonwealth countries.
