Skills Council project | Tallinn workshop

Social partners in European audiovisual and performing arts sectoral social dialogue are engaged on an 18-month study project on skills and labour market needs, partnership and exchange of good practices between national structures and the possible implementation of a European exchange platform.

Three thematic reports have to be prepared by the project coordinator, Daphné Tepper, to be presented and discussed during three workshops and a final conference.

The first of these workshops took place in Tallinn on 29 April 2015 attended by representatives of social partners, skills councils from ten countries, as well as representatives from AEC and ELIA (organisations interested in the professional training of artists). As skills councils exist in various forms throughout Europe, the project is focusing mainly on the experience of the most structured amongst them in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

The Tallinn workshop looked at the labour situation and skill trends in the audiovisual and performing arts sectors. A proposed thematic report was submitted for discussion. A website is going to be set up which will include an online documentary base, as well as serving as an exchange platform.
